5 cool things from Canyon, Bell, Merida and Lifeline

Two very different Canyon bikes were tested this week, one is a mountain bike, one is a gravel road, one has an engine, and the other does not. There is also a 1k Merida Silex, a new but expensive Bell half-face helmet and a tubeless track pump. Get in…
Canyon Spectral underwent extensive overhaul in 2021. It is an exciting off-road bike and now also uses 29er wheel size. We are very eager to ride on this new and more advanced bicycle, so let’s take a look at this bicycle first.
The second Caynon in a week, this time is Grail:ON, a gravel electric bicycle. Our tester Matt Page has been testing the load of these electronic lithotripters, and he would like to see how the Bosch-powered Grail compares. This CF 8 specification is Shimano GRX RX810 equipped with XT 11-42T flywheel, Schwalbe G-One Bite tires, DT Swiss 1800 Spline wheels and a large number of Canyon parts including hover bars. We have sent this bike to Matt for a gravel ride and test in Central Wales, please come back as soon as possible to find out his thoughts.
People on road.cc are testing Silex 200. This is a comfortable and versatile gravel bike of the brand, with geometric shapes inspired by mountain bikes. Long top tube and head tube, plus short stem, ensure flexible and stable handling, and Maxxis Rambler 700x38c tires should provide sufficient all-weather, all-surface grip.
The 6066 three-butt hydroformed aluminum frame has internal wiring and BB86 bottom bracket. Stu Kerton has been off-road and his full report will be available on their website soon…
Bell’s new product is the Super Air Spherical helmet. Based on the half-shell version of Super Air R, the lid uses “spherical MIPS” technology, and the two layers inside the helmet move each other like a ball joint. This is a cool concept, and of course it seems that it should provide related security advantages. 200 pounds is not cheap though!
Editor of off-road.cc, Rachael is happiest on two wheels. He prefers one or two games and Rachael also likes to go to the mountains with a large group of teammates. Rachael has written for Enduro Mountain Bike Magazine, Mountain Biking UK, Bike Radar, New Zealand Mountain Biker and other publications in the past. He is also the online editor of Spoke Magazine in New Zealand. As long as she keeps riding her bike, she is equally happy to be trapped in a kit review while creating a story or working as a webmaster. When she is not busy with all the above things, she will roast coffee or guide mountain biking in the Forest of Dean.
