Asahi/America, Inc. is a leader in thermoplastic fluid flow technology and introduced the Type-21a Seat Support Technology (SST) flow control ball valve. This true union ball valve has all the solid components of Type-21 and the ability to accurately control the flow.
SST ball valves are available from 1/2″ to 2″, with precision-machined PVC balls, with a center device, which can support the effective flow of the PTFE seat from 0% to 100%. The 21a stainless steel ball valve produces an equal percentage flow characteristic for fine detail flow. The valve needs to be installed directionally and is equipped with a flow direction label.
The manually operated SST ball valve includes a 0 to 100 degree indicator plate and an indicator line on the handle, which can double as a bracket adjustment tool. The ISO 5211 top flange bolt style and the one-piece bottom gasket for panel mounting are standard equipment for all 21a stainless steel ball valves. The valve body is PVC with EPDM or FKM O-rings.
SST ball valves are provided with socket, threaded and flanged end connections. Other options include electric or pneumatic drive with 4-20mA control, stem extension and 2 inch square operating nut.
