The MSI Wind U135 netbook is interesting for a number of reasons.It’s one of the company’s first Intel Pine Trail products, and it breaks away from the usually bland MSI Wind design, it’s reasonably capable in terms of specs, offers good battery life, and best of all, at an affordable price.

Cons: – Can’t use components (if you do, voids warranty) – Glossy cover, fingerprint magnets – Loud speakers but poor quality (little separation, muffles at high volume) – Small right shift key – no multi-touch gestures on the touchpad
The MSI Wind U135 is one of four Pine Trail netbooks released by the company.The new processor isn’t the only new thing, MSI has put more effort into the design of these new Wind netbooks.The older Wind design was certainly sturdy and functional, but as manufacturers continue to work on making more attractive netbooks, it’s important that MSI doesn’t fall behind.
The Wind U160 is the most attractive, with its slim chassis and 15 hours of battery life.Aside from a few photos, we haven’t heard of the Wind U140, and then we left the U130 and U135.The U130 and U135 are very similar, but the U135 has a 20% larger touchpad and a chocolate keyboard.Other than that, both feature 10-inch (1024 x 600) screens, 1.66GHz N450 Pineview Atom processors, 160GB/250GB hard drive options, and Windows 7.Other features include Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.0, 1.3MP webcam and 4-in-1 card reader.
MSI also says that with Intel’s new platform, the power consumption is only 5.5 watts, battery life is increased by 15%, and performance is improved by 10%.Like other MSI netbooks, the company’s ECO engine is present to extend battery life.

I think it’s important to point out that the touchpad does support multi-touch, scrolling, etc.You just need to get the Sentelic Multi Touchpad driver from http://www.msi.com/index.php?func= nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1973
Please attach a close-up of the two MSI tags at the bottom right.These labels show the wireless chipset used in the laptop.If the chipset was Atheros, I wouldn’t touch the U135!There are just too many issues with this chipset.Realtek is the best.
